During the early and mid seventies, Australian,
J. J. Francis released four albums, ‘Rock‘n‘Roll Refugee‘, ‘Breaks, Works and Thoughts‘, ‘Open Fist‘ and ‘Wassa Matta‘. They have become collectors items.

Two of the songs he wrote still get airplay today; the classic ‘Simple Ben‘ featured in the legendary surf movie ‘Morning of the Earth‘ and the original hit song ‘Play Mumma Play, (Sing me a Song)‘ which has also been covered by many other artists .

This 2010 release from John J features lovingly restored and remastered tracks from ‘Breaks, Works & Thoughts’, the most nominated album at the 1973 Australasian Radio Awards (now ARIA Awards); the hit single ‘Play Mumma, Sing Me a Song’, which also took out Best Song/Composer of the Year Award and ‘Simple Ben’, the iconic surf anthem from the Platinum-selling soundtrack album, ‘Morning Of the Earth’ as well as selections from John’s critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Rock n’ Roll Refugee’ and his highly sought after 1974 releases, ‘Open Fist’ and ‘Wassa Matta’.
